Kern Family Foundation PLTW Grant Application Home Page

Thank you for your interest in the Kern Family Foundation start-up grants for the PLTW program.

Over the past seven years, the Kern Family Foundation has partnered with PLTW and helped it

grow to serve over 350,000 students across the county.

More and more corporations and foundations are interested in investing in schools directly to

start PLTW implementation. To support this, PLTW has developed the infrastructure and

capability to now work with funders to match contributed resources with school applicants.

As a pilot, before opening this process up nationally next year, PLTW will run its first grant

application cycle to effectively and efficiently match funding resources to new PLTW

implementations at schools in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Private and public

middle schools and high schools are eligible to apply. This initial application cycle will only be

for the engineering program (PTE and GTT) and will not include Biomedical Sciences.
